Fighting climate change and waste with reusables

Eco Lizard is a network of returnable, reusable food containers. We make it easy for restaurants, delivery platforms, and Point-of-Sale systems to offer customers the option to receive takeout and delivery without creating trash.

Co-Founders Rocky Baier and Stephen Menke love supporting local restaurants, and they (like many others) relied heavily on takeout during the pandemic. However, both became increasingly disgusted by how much waste they were producing, and they wanted a solution that could help them reduce waste in an easy way. Rocky and Stephen set out on a mission to make it easier for everyone to make a switch that reduces waste in their daily lives.

Stephen and Rocky met through Sustainable Tucson's Zero Waste Committee, and together they co-founded the Tucson Repair Cafe, a place to get broken items fixed for free. They connected over their similar views about the circular economy, local businesses, and helping the earth.

CEO and Co-Founder

Rocky Baier

Co-founder and CEO Rocky Baier graduated from the University of Arizona in 2020. She has a background in journalism, graphic design, user experience, and data. She switched away from writing front-page stories to launch news products that served the communities newsrooms were covering. She became increasingly concerned about climate change, and wanted to use all of her skills to help her community become more green.

CFO and Co-Founder

Stephen Menke

Co-founder and CFO Stephen Menke has a background in chemistry, education, and wine. He helped start sustainable wineries in Colorado as part of his position as a faculty member at Colorado State University. He is interested in developing chemical processes to create pure, circular plastic monomers, as well as glass and stainless steel recycling from local sources, thus creating jobs in a local circular economy.

Our team is ready to normalize reuse. We’re here to make the most climate-friendly option an accessible one. We're tackling climate change, one takeout meal at a time.
